Adam Stone is not a saint.

He’s six-foot-two, naughty blue eyes, cocky grin, and a bod blessed by the gods.

He’s a surfer, a soldier, a pilot, and he’s been my friend since I moved to our small town when we were just kids.

But another man took my hand.

He took my innocence, took my trust, and broke my heart.

I was young. I didn’t know love could be a weapon.

I didn’t know the hand that caressed you could also cut you.

Now that man is dead, and I’m a single-mom survivor wearing a mask so perfect, no one knows the truth. Trust doesn’t come easy, and surviving is a hard habit to break.

But when a plumbing disaster leaves me homeless, one night in Adam Stone’s (supposedly) empty bed changes everything.

I’ve hidden my scars so long, I don’t know how else to be, but I want to try.

I’m in love with Adam Stone. I love every glance, every wink, every protective touch

He says he’s different. He says he loves me and my son, and he wants to take care of us.

    I believe in this love.

All I need is a little luck.

(A LITTLE LUCK is a spicy small-town, single mom romance with elements of forced proximity, only one bed, who did this to you, he falls first, and a touch of suspense. No cheating. No cliffhanger.)

“I’m not on the pill,” she gasps against my mouth, sucking my lips with hers again.

“Jesus,” I gasp, sliding my palms over her ass, trying to get my bearings from that orgasm.

Her legs are on each side of me, and I reach up to move her thick hair away from face, holding it behind her neck in my hands. I need some light in this room. I want to see every emotion that crosses her face.

    “I have condoms.”

“I didn’t want to wait.” She leans down, and we’re kissing again. Her lips slide to my ear, and she whispers. “I want you behind me, thrusting so hard I see stars.”

“I’ll f–k you til you can’t walk if you want me to.”

    “Okay.”

We’re speaking in soft, furtive whispers, and all the pillows are off the bed. I sit up, switching on the lamp and opening for the drawer where I hope I have enough condoms. I don’t have a box, but God knows I held onto some in the hopes I might one day be here with her.

She’s on her knees beside me, and I pull her naked body against my chest as I search the drawer. I need to feel her skin against mine in case something happens and she disappears.

Her lips are on my neck, and she traces her tongue along my skin. “Salty,” she whispers with a soft laugh.

My fingers land on square foil, and I grab it out. She puts her fingers on my cheeks, looking into my eyes. Her gorgeous, green-hazel eyes shine, and I swallow the emotion in my throat. She’s happy. She’s here with me.

    “It’s like a dream.” She’s still whispering.“It doesn’t have to be…”
